The first time we visited Change of Life Pentecostal Tabernacle was on June 22nd, 2023. We had recently gotten married after 2 years of dating. At that time we were still sharing a home with our family. We were also between jobs at this time and could not seem to find the right fit for our future.
At this point, Brother Alex had already had a meeting with Pastor, and we had also had multiple conversations with Brother Edward who was our first contact with Change of Life Pentecostal. Before coming to this church, though we knew that we loved each other, it just always felt like something was missing in our marriage. It seemed as though we argued over every little thing; We simply did not understand how to put our priorities in proper order. With all these things combined, it seemed like we were in and out of love with each other, and having family issues in the mix, it only drove us apart even more. We were attending a church at the time, which we thought would help, but there was still nothing in that church which called for us to change our lives and what we were doing. Though we did not realize it at the time, change was exactly what we needed and the only thing that would help. The hunger was there, but we could feel it fading away as we weren’t going anywhere in our marriage and were becoming stagnant with what we thought we needed to do for God.
Eventually, we just stopped entertaining the idea of church until the first service we attended at Change of Life Pentecostal Tabernacle. The sermon we heard in that first service spoke VOLUMES to us, not only individually but also to our lives together and marriage. As Pastor Hoffman preached, it seemed like the Lord was talking straight to us and about what we were going through. By the end of that sermon, our eyes were truly beginning to open.
After the service everyone came to greet us and asked us about ourselves, wanting to know more about us, and it truly felt like a genuine love and care that they had, and that’s something that has stuck with us since. Our Hunger for God began to grow, and we soon had many questions. As the Word of God became clearer, answers followed, offering greater insight into our individual responsibilities, particularly in our marriage. Soon after, we were both baptized in the name of Jesus, and from that day, our lives have COMPLETELY CHANGED for the better.
As of September of 2025, having been at Change of Life for over 2 years, we can truly say that GOD has turned our lives into something we never thought could be possible. From blessing us with 2 stable jobs soon after joining the church, followed by our very own apartment and living on our own. We now have a peace that surpasses all understanding in our marriage and lives that no one can take away. We have also learned how to serve each others needs better as husband and wife and how our roles, though very different from each other, still match up so perfectly as God intended it. Learning how to prioritize God, our lives, as well as each other and how to communicate/understand each other, and to pray for one another truly makes all the difference. After having learned to put HIM first, all things began falling into place from top to bottom.
This all wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the Great Man of God Pastor Hoffman and the anointed teaching the Lord has gifted him with, and for the first step we took to show the Lord that we want and love HIM, and HE IS FIRST ABOVE ALL. We couldn’t be happier to be serving the Lord in our youth and to have been serving him since we turned 20 years old, being a witness to those our age that there IS more out there than the desires we once had, and that THIS IS IT.
