Every time I think about my journey to Change of Life Pentecostal Tabernacle, I am filled with gratitude to the Lord. It is incredible to look back and see how God was directing me to this church. I spent my whole life chasing a career in baseball. I considered myself a Christian, but in reality, my God and master wasn’t Jesus, it was baseball (Matthew 6:24 KJV). From high school to the professional level, my career was riddled with injuries. I always had the same response to people in my life when I had an injury, “God has a plan.” I would get frustrated when things were going well, and then here comes another injury. At the time, I thought, God, you gave me this talent, what’s going on? Eventually, it ran its course and I knew I was done. After the last game I pitched, the pitching coach asked me, what do you want to do next? I told him, I don’t know, but I know I want to serve the Lord. My wife and I then moved to Texas, and finding a church to call home was on my mind. Fast forward a little over a year and I met Brother Victor at my job. I would hear him speak about the Lord to others, there was just something different about him and the way he spoke. Knowing he went to church, I asked him one day, hey man, do you go to church? I had never seen someone get so excited about their church. He told me it was different and a tough message, but he loved it. I thought, well I gotta check this out. I was looking for God and the truth and he led me to Brother Victor and ultimately, Change of Life Pentecostal Tabernacle (Matthew 5:6 KJV). The first time I heard Pastor Hoffman preach, I knew that this was it. ALL BIBLE, I never saw the Bible more clear and I saw things that I had never seen in the Word. It is just hard to describe unless you’ve been to the church. Not an interpretation, not what he thought, just Bible on top of Bible, bearing witness with itself. Pastor Hoffman lives by what he preaches and is a true man of God, holding us accountable and getting us prepared to meet the Lord. Being a part of this church and family has truly been a change of life. When this church says they are praying for you, they truly mean it. It is a reason why my wife and I are in this church. God led me to this church and I will forever be grateful for that. I always said that God had a plan, and He did, I’m in that plan now.
