Looking back, I believe I was searching for the truth, but I just didn’t know it. I never knew God’s Word, although I was raised Catholic and surrounded by “Christians.” I just did what I wanted, filling the void with anything I could get my hands on. My whole life, I wanted peace of mind. I started to really wonder what actually happens after death, and I wanted to be sure.
One Sunday morning, my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, surprised me that he was going to a church he had never been to and asked if I wanted to go with him, but regardless, he was going. I said I would go with him because I wanted to spend the day together. When we arrived at Change of Life and heard Pastor Hoffman preaching God’s Word from the 1611 King James Version like I had never heard before in my life, I was a blank slate, taking everything in. He showed us in the Bible every single thing he taught us. No opinions or theories like I heard my whole life, just pure Word. I was getting answers to all of my questions.
We kept coming back, and he showed us the necessity of the commandment to be baptized in Jesus name, and once I saw it in the Word, there was no arguing it. We were baptized in Jesus name as commanded in Acts 2:38 KJV, and we were then married in the church. I knew, as we were centering our life together around God and His righteousness (Matt 6:33 KJV), that I wanted to look for a house close to the church. Within 9 months of attending this church, driving from 50 minutes away, three days a week, and twice on Sundays. God blessed us with a home 2 minutes away!
We have been at this church for 7 years now, and it’s the best and smartest thing I have ever done. I have a real relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God opened my understanding to His Word at this church, and I will forever be indebted to Him and what He has done for me. Without a healthy fear of God, His chastening hand, and God leading me to this church, I would be in Hell today, and that’s a fact. This church is the only place where I have ever felt the real presence of God, and it has made a believer out of me. There are signs following this church and Pastor as it should be (Mark 16:15-20 KJV). If you’re looking for a sign, this is it!
This Pastor and everyone in the church live the whole Word of God every day of the week; they’re not just hearers but doers of the Word. The Word of God is all about change and lining yourself up with it and living it, which is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1 KJV) because He is WORTH it. Whatever it takes. It’s for your soul! Why risk your soul? This is for eternity.
Although this walk comes with a fight (Psalm 34:19 KJV), I can truly say I have never been happier or had more peace (Philippians 4:7 KJV). The truth shall make you free. (John 8:32 KJV).
